The Thang:

The number of the day is 100.

After planning on doing some 100 yard work on the football field, I opted to move the workout over to the driveway around the baseball diamond instead due to “moisture” on the field.

Started out with a 200 yard (ish) mosey, and 25 Side straddle hops, and then proceeded into the weighted portion of our program.

Workout was a cinder block based weight up-down pyramid of 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 16, 12, 8, 4 reps (100 total) of the following exercises:

Cinder Block Chest press

F3 Count flutters, while holding cindy over your chest

Kneeling Cindy Overhead Press (kneeling to avoid the tendency to use the legs to bounce the weight up once you get tired)

Cindy Squats

Cindy Curls

After each set of all 5 exercises, we ran about 100 yards (that being the theme of the day) before beginning the next set.

After the 3rd (12 reps), 6th (16 reps going back down) and 9th or last set (4 reps) we did 25 SSH’s. Add those 75 to the one’s we did at the beginning and we did 100 F3 count SSH’s, or you know 200 in regular people counting.

On the last 100 yard run, we stopped halfway to get everyone together and sprinted 50 yards back to where we left our weights. Retro apparently ALMOST ran faster than Crablegs ( and I know this because he told me 20 or 30 times).

Finished with a 100 second overhead cindy hold, and then ambled back to the flag to drop off the cindys.

Goal was to run 1000 yards or so over the course of the workout but I apparently overestimated a bit as I was informed we got about 1.5 miles.

COT: Q referenced the up and down nature of our workout and how so often people only think about the highs in their life and focus on reaching the mountaintop, while never realizing that most people spend the vast majority of their lives in the valley. That doesn’t make the valley a bad place to be, in fact, the valley is where we live our lives, where we raise our families. In Bible days, the valley is where streams were found, crops were raised and homesteads were built. Sure we can strive to reach that mountaintop but don’t ignore the good things in your valley during that quest. Q is thankful for prayers for his M’s job situation and his father’s health. Prayer was asked for Pineapple’s 2.0 as she moves out and begins college. Prayers for Red Elephant as he’s experience some issues with his leg, preventing him from being as active as he’d like.
