The Thang:

Work is to be done on your own (OYO)
For the post for the day, one Murph which can be completed in any style or modification.
For the CSAUP patch, the following criteria had to be met:
- 3 Murphs completed before 12 pm
- One-mile run –> exercises –> one-mile run
- Pull-ups, push-ups, and squats can be broken up in any way you want
- One of the Murphs had to have a weight of at least 20# (i.e. ruck or weight vest)
- Only acceptable modifier is a ring row or inverted row in place of pullups (must double up on the reps)
I thought this Murph setup was particularly sucky (by design of course). Here is why:
- The mile run was mostly on a grass field which will slow everyone down
- The mile run was actually 1.04 mi (by my calculations).
- The mile run had barely any shade. It got in the mid-80s by the time the CSAUP folks finished. I felt the effects of the heat when I got home.
- Pull-up bars were fairly thick and some of them subtly spin, which makes gripping them a little more difficult. If you did the Murph last year at my home, my pull-up bars were thinner.
- For me, I forgotten that I added side plates to my body armor so it was about 3# heavier than last year (which makes a BIG DIFFERENCE).

WCTV came by and filmed some coverage. Hopefully everyone’s form was spot-on for the cameras!
I did have 7 flags on display for this workout. Is that a record?
COT:
Remember tomorrow is TUESDAY!
32 Murphs were completed on the day. Peter Pan contributed an extra $20. Because I am so “terrible” at math, I will be donating $400 to Team Guardian.
Thanks to Striker for opening up this facility to us. By the way, Howard Hall is about 1 mi (and change) from Cascades, just saying.
Thanks to Doc T for making a stop for us on a busy day for him.
