As the Q was cramming for the workout last night, he was thinking about all the leaders in F3 and it reminded of him of the verse.
Luke 22:24-27
A dispute also arose among them, talking about the disciples, as to which of them was to be regarded as the greatest. Jesus said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them and those in authority over them are called benefactors. But not so as you. Rather, let the greatest among you become as the youngest and the leader, as one who serves. For who is the greater, one who reclines at table or one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at table? But I am among you as the one who serves.
Jesus was defining greatness and leadership, not according to sitting back and being served, but stepping forward and serving. This is what a true leader does. Just think through today, how you can lead by serving today.
Mr. Kotter rephrased it as “A leader is not who sits at the table, but a leader is who sets the table.”
