Inventory the weights
Partner up and account for your weights. One PAX is the victim and the other is the rescuer.
- The victim brings the weights to the other side of the soccer field before the start of the drill.
- The rescuer will run to the his partner and buddy drag him back to the start.
- Rescuer goes back to the other side to grab the weights and suitcase carry them back to the start
- If you are waiting to be rescued or if you finish early, pushups while you wait.
- Switch partners on the next iteration
After both partners in each team have made one run. We rotated partners to have a different partner. We were able to go through the exercises three times per PAX.
Unfortunately, I was the odd man out and I only got to do this drill once.
Dirty Mike was our Dirty Dummy. I quickly demonstrated the Buddy Carry but could not do the Ranger Roll to Buddy Carry. I was not prepared to demonstrate that and I have not practiced that in a very long time. That will be my personal homework assignment. I am sure the folks at GrowRuck will let me try it on them
The purpose of this was to demonstrate the practical application of Sprint, Drag, Carry on the new Army PT test. Also, you never know when you need to use a technique such as this. It is good to know how hard it can be.
Overall, it was a very intimate experience. I am not sure how well that was received. And I am sure it was discussed at Commiebucks afterwards.
