Date: 3/6/2021
AO: Bannerman Crossing
QIC: Dimples
PAX: Wiseguy, FNG Thomas McCall, Count, Houdini, Billy Madison, Pebbles, Slaw Dawg, Bambi, Carbon Copy, Jaws, Recount, Ron Swanson, Apache, Big Gulp, Hawaii 50, Sleepy, Mofongo, AOL, Little Debbie
0600 – 8 PAX joined early at 0600 for a Pre-Ruck to recon the territory which helped the QIC come up with a plan for the 0700 launch. Covered about 3.25 miles in no rain.
0700- 20 men came out on a rainy morning to launch our new Bannerman Crossing (BC) replacing Tekesta Park (R.I.P.), including 1 FNG for his 2nd Saturday post. Appreciate the Southwood guys making the trek up to the northside as I think a few got an AirBnB last night to avoid the drive. Covered about 2.9-3.2 miles depending on the device.
With 5 flags planted near Hanger 38, we got to work!
Lord’s Prayer
Warmup:
25 SSH, 25 MC, 25 Squats, 25 Merkins, Name-o-rama with Arm Circles & Stretching
Double barrel S&B through BC to a conveniently placed Cindy pile near new construction. What the QIC did not know, was these blocks were made out of Styrofoam apparently, and not the standard Cindy weight – no complaints from PAX. Grab a block, let’s get to work.
The Thang:
50 Cindy Curls, 10 Cindy Swings, 30 Cindy Squats
Drop Cindy, mosey down the hill, and then sprint up (100ish yards)
25 Cindy Curls, 25 Cindy Press
Drop Cindy, mosey down the hill, and then sprint up (100ish yards)
30 Cindy Merkins, 10 Cindy Squat Holds
Drop Cindy back off where we left her, nice and neat, fully intact.
Mosey back down the hill to find another hill awaited us a few yards away to much chagrin from the PAX. In groups of 4-5, sprint up hill which would roughly 100-150 yards from bottom. Rinse and repeat 3 times, switch to DB’s about 100 yards, then bear crawl 50 yards, and lunges 50 yards. We spent probably 10 minutes doing this work and then the rain started coming down. . . .
Back to the Double Barrel S&B down Bannerman Road to the plush fake grass of Lucky Goat for an Ab circuit.
25 Up & Outs
25 Leg Lifts
20 American Hammers
20 Bicycles
90 Second Plank Hold (with a few up/downs mixed in)
Next stop on adventure was the back of Bannerman Crossing on the unknown parking lot made of mysterious porous slippery material. The plan was suicides’, but with 20 guys and limited space we pivoted to Burpee Broad Jumps instead about 50 yards. Crab Crawl or Lunge back to the starting point and leave the place we never shall see again.
Guess what was next….Double Barrel S&B through Bannerman Crossing down to First Baptist Church for some reflection time. In 5 groups of 4, the PAX completed a set of Pinwheels on the steps while others completed squats, imperial walkers, Monkey Humpers (yes, in front of a church), and Don Quixote’s.
Continued our trend of Double Barrel S&B around the church property, passed a few Sheriffs most likely figuring our if we part of Proud Boys, ANTIFA, or some cross fit cult, and head back to Bannerman Crossing to make a statement with 20 men running through the rain as many sad clowns waiting in the Dunkin drive through for coffee.
To finish off a great Saturday morning, PAX completed a set of BLIMPS in the much heavier down pour as onlookers gasped at our manliness.
10 Burpees
10 Lunges
10 Imperial Walkers
10 Merkins
10 Plank Jacks
10 Squat Jumps
DONE!
COT:
Bannerman Crossing offers a LOT of opportunity to grow the northside with several large neighborhoods within a 5 miles radius, and plenty of options for 2nd F (fellowship) with Lucky Goat, Ma’s Diner, Dunkin, and even Chick Fil-a. Was great to see 10+ guys stay after to enjoy the warmth of Lucky Goat as we took over the venue and coffee smells guarded our odors for other customers.
We’re all blessed, make the most of the day, be present, and kick ass!
Until next time,
-Dimples
