Tekesta AO Launch brings FNG record?

Date: 2/27/2021

AO: Tekesta Park (possibly Bannerman Crossing soon)

QIC: Dimples

PAX: FNG Thomas McCall, FNG Pace Mawhinney, FNG Allen Blay, FNG Jim Parker, FNG Anthony Bobolito (sp?), Fruit of the Loom, FNG Brian Haywood, Slaw Dawg, Tasky Kakes, Grillz, Pebbles, Bambi, Pyscho, Slowhand, Iron Horse, FNG Ian White, FNG Cliff Walker

In what may be an new record, 8 FNG’s joined us in the foggy sunrise of Tekesta Park on a beautiful morning for a total of 18 PAX. Several were invited by QIC even one with a 5 year #emotionalheadlock, and several others who have been following the group through Facebook or Twitter. Regardless how they arrived, the entire group did an amazing job on a not so easy launch party. Most ranked it an 8 out of 10 so it can get easier, and generally 10 minutes shorter!

Since we had a large group of FNG’s, QIC took a moment to provide the history of F3 starting in 2011, the Rogue Region launch in June 2012, and our core mission of invigorating male leadership in our community.

Round 1: BLIMPS + Run

5 Burpees + 100 yard run and back (200 total)

10 Lunges + 100 yard run and back (200 total)

15 Imperial Walkers + 100 yard run and back (200 total)

20 Merkins + 100 yard run and back (200 total)

25 Plank Jacks + 100 yard run and back (200 total)

Mosey back to waters for quick rinse.

Round 2 – Dora the Explorer + Animals

Partner up for 100 Merkins, 200 Squats, 300 Big Boys/Crunches

Partner 1 does work while Partner 2 bear crawls 30 yards + runs 30 yards, then back.

300 Big Boy’s was a bit ambitious so we switched to 100 Big Boys + 200 Crunches. For any groups still working we provide assistance and finished as a group.

Mosey to waters for quick rinse.

Round 3 – Hmm. . . . we still have 10 more minutes……..

It’s been a while since I led a Saturday Q and misjudged the timing from 50 to 60 minutes, so had to slightly modify the last few minutes to the mumble chatter of the PAX. Each PAX grabbed a piece of fence for Merkin/Dip Circuit followed by some playground work.

10 Inclines + 10 Declines + 10 Head Taps + 10 Diamond Declines + 10 Dips

Mosey to playground for 10 Inclines + 10 Declines + 10 Dips

Mosey to basketball court for Ab Circle – 10 count per PAX choice (flutters, Big Boys, crunches, V-ups, up & outs, crunchy frogs, etc.) – 180+ reps.

With 1 minute to spare, QIC choose his most hated exercise – Burpee Broad Jumps. Across the court the PAX went and back finishing right at 0800am.

Time for coffee at Lucky Goat @Bannerman Crossing!

COT:

Great turnout for our first Tekesta Park AO launch with 8 FNG’s which I’m pretty sure is a record for F3 Tallahassee. Personally I was thankful for several good friends and neighbors that came out even 1 that I’ve been recruiting for 5+ years (FNG Haywood). The message is never give up; keep encouraging other men to join us in the gloom so they can experience the benefits of F3 in their lives. It’s changed my life and I know many of us have similar stories. Iron Sharpens Iron!

Many thankful to have a northside location on Saturdays and talks of the best location going forward between Tekesta Park and Bannerman Crossings (more on that soon). Several also shared interest in making it out during the week so hope to see additional new faces soon at Chiles, Gilchrist and Meadows. Continued prayers for Houdini’s family for the loss of MIL, Slaw Dawg’s cousin, patience with wife/kids, and health.

PRAYER & PLEDGE

Until next time,

-Dimples
