FNGs: 0
Q: @Fruit of the Loom
Total: 22
Conditions: it varied wildly from the parched deserts of Tatooine to the numbing cold of Hoth, but mostly a sort of generalized mugginess typically found in the jungles of Kashyyk.
Warm up:
20 X-Wings IC (aka Side Straddle Hops)
15 Force Pushes IC (aka Merkins, aka Pushups)
Trench Run (double column Shake and Bake with shakee making star fighter noises while running the trench between the two columns of men, who were tossing out applicable SW quotes) to the end of the parking lot and back to the weights.
The Star Wars Thang:
After the trench run, it’s time to defeat the DEATH STAR!
Grab weights and mosey over to 10 cones laid out in a loose star-shaped pattern. YHC is sure it looked like a star from above, although from the ground it looked like he just drove up and threw cones out both sides of his car. The Death Star requires each pax to start at 1 of the 10 cones making up the star pattern and do 10 Force Pushes (pushing the earth away with force) and then bear (or bantha) crawl to the next star point and do 10 more. Death Star is destroyed when all pax have hit all 10 star points and completed 100 Force Pushes.
Time for the empire to Strike Back!
Mosey to the Wolf (space wolf maybe, https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Loth-wolf) Statue and and circle up as the ominous strains of the Imperial March begin to play.
That sound can only mean one thing, time for Imperial Walkers!
15 Imperial Walkers IC
15 Imperial Squat Walkers IC (https://f3nation.com/exicon/entry/3176/?gvid=398721)
15 Imperial Storm Kickers IC (https://f3nation.com/exicon/entry/3175/?gvid=398721)
Next is time to “Do or Do Not, There is no TRY” with a round of YODA 3-2-1’s
A YODA 3-2-1 is just like a Dora 1-2-3, but backwards because…Yoda.
300 That’s no Moons (aka Moon Gods https://f3nation.com/view/exicon/entry/3275/?pagenum=18)
200 Force Raises (front shoulder raise of the magneto weights we picked earlier in the saga, do it one-handed if you’re Darth Vader)
100 Wookie Humpers (like a monkey humper, but elevated on a wall or bench, since Wookies are a lot taller than monkeys)
Mosey back to drop off weights and pick up Death Star wreckage, and then travel back to flag as a group at slightly less than light speed to weather one last imperial attack.
Star Destroyers (aka Plank Destroyers https://f3nation.com/exicon/entry/3339/?gvid=398721&pagenum=21)
We blew up 9 or 10 destroyers (there seemed to be some doubt) and then decided to crank out 1 more, just in case, for the Jedi Master in the sky.
The End, music swells, please exit the theater slowly and deposit your trash in the receptacles by the door!
Moleskin/COT:Q was very thankful for the large turnout this morning. It means a lot when this many HIMs forgo the fartsack to come out and indulge in a bit of hardcore nerdery disguised as a workout, or vice-versa. Q shared the below tidbit from QSource as it felt particularly relevant, and reminded all PAX that our FORCE is not some ethereal, mystical thing, but rather a direct connection to our creator that we can amplify and strengthen with daily communication.
“All men are subject to the emotions of fear and worry. In proper measure, they are an important part of the bundle of instincts that protect us from danger. Fear keeps us clear of the lion and worry spurs us to teach our sons to do the same. As such, fear and worry are necessary for self-preservation. But, like all good things, fear and worry can become so excessive that they interfere with our daily lives. They can take over. At that point, our emotions have reached a state of anxiety and anxiety is a Jester that hinders Acceleration.
Anxiety is an emotion that all men can expect periodically–it is part of the Flux. What is unexpected is the timing of it and the degree to which it will hinder Acceleration. As a result, anxiety is a condition that has elements of both the expected and unexpected. We can get ready for some aspects of it but must be ready for others. When anxiety arises unexpectedly it is the man who is in Right relationship with his Creator who is best able to withstand it because he will be equipped with Hope.
Hope is not self-generated. It starts with a firm belief that some force outside of oneself is directing Events and that the force has our best interests in mind. Through Prayer, the HIM builds his relationship with that force, the Creator, to disabuse himself of the fatuous notion that the force is distant, uninvolved or capricious.
To have Hope in the Creator, a man must speak to him every day through Prayer. It is a positive Habit, one of the Bricks that comprise a HIM’s Guardrails–the foundational precepts that protect and incentive his Acceleration to Advantage. They make the difference between the Pro and the Amateur.“
