The warm-up consisted of us trying to figure out who was going to lead. No decision was made so we set out on the Big Loop.
Since we basically were going rogue even by Rogue Region standards, we did the Big Loop backwards. Cathy, Breezy, and Crab stopped us a few times for work. Work was as follows:
At the rails on T-ville Rd: Incline Merkins (concussions optional but encouraged), Squats, and something else I can’t remember
At the start of Live Oak Plantation Rd.: reverse burpees and reverse squats with 5 second holds.
If you are wondering what a reverse burpee is, instead of going down, doing a merkin, then standing up, you basically do a reverse stand-up, then the merkin, then reverse the going down part. Trust us, it works a whole different set of muscles. Same with squats. Instead of going down then coming back up. Do a reverse go-up, then a reverse go-down. After discovering these reverse exercises, we really feel like we have only been working about 50% of our muscles up until this point. We aren’t experts, but I think we’re totally on to something here…. Or maybe we are just on something. Doesn’t matter.
Continued rucking. Move toward ab corner. Did a set of abs led by Cathy. Set of reverse flutters, some reverse big boys, reverse “up and oots”, etc.
Move again to the church parking lot. Breezy led a set of arms and Swanson had us do a run.
Back to the flag at 5:50a.
COT: Cathy’s wife is doing well in the new job and recovering nicely. Crab is more encouraged. Cathy is hoping for some type of new communicable disease. Swanson’s mom is turning 80 so he will be DR this weekend. Breezy is working for free these days. Hipster is a new CEO. Crayola broke his truck. Fruit is getting ready to destroy his first GORUCK event and Retro said his name.
