The Thang

For our main event we carried our coupons to the mini-track for The Burpee Factory

This is easy enough to execute— simply deconstruct the burpee into stations with specified travel in between. This can be modified up or down with called exercises or with the addition of weight, like a cindy.

For our pax it was broken down as follows:

  1. Merkins
    • Bear crawl to next station
  2. Gassers
    • Hop to next station
  3. Squat Jumps
    • Gorilla Crawl to next station
  4. Thrusters (with weight)
    • Mosey around the track back to the start

For our repetitions:

10 / 8 / 6 / 4 / 4 / 2 (no that second round of 4 is not a mistake)
as this is my birthday Q a few pax ( I think it was Thomas the boy) figured out the total equaled 34.

Once we made it through, we headed over to the basketball court. Since the baseball field had limited visibility on the bases YHC opted to run Burpee Baseball on the court.

Burpee Baseball
Have the pax line up shoulder to shoulder, 1 pax runs the bases while the rest of the pax perform the called variation of burpee. After the pax runs the bases have him tag on to the opposite end of the line from where he started and call out “NEXT MAN”

We did blockees if you had a block and double merkin burpees if you didn’t. as pax pushed down the line they alternated between the two depending if the station had a block or not.

“Passion alone can’t cut it. For passion to survive it needs structure. A why without a how has little probability of success”

Start with Why: How Great Leaders Inspire Everyone to Take Action by Simon Sinek

In it he asks the questions

Why are some people and organizations more innovative, more influential, and more profitable than others? Why do some command greater loyalty from customers and employees alike? Even among the successful, why are so few able to repeat their success over and over?

People like Martin Luther King Jr., Steve Jobs, and the Wright Brothers might have little in common, but they all started with why. It was their natural ability to start with why that enabled them to inspire those around them and to achieve remarkable things.

Over the past 6 months it has been obvious to me the passion residing in the pax of F3 Tallahassee — there’s a lot of reasons to be proud. But the truth is we need to fight the urge to be continually looking back at our past accomplishments so much we stop moving forward. At 9 years old, there’s a lot of experience and wisdom within our pax — and I’ve now had the privilege to be exposed to some of it. But seeing the skills and capabilities I can’t help but continue to ask the question —How much MORE are we capable of?

IPC is just one example of how we can push ourselves a little further than we previously believed possible— and this is because of a level of coordination as a team.

If we as a team and as individuals take time to further understand our purpose (our cause or our belief) and we are circling back for our brothers (picking up the six). Then we will all continue to move toward advantage.

Prayer (Crab Legs)
Pledge

Thank you for the opportunity to lead again this morning. I’ve been abundantly blessed by this community the past 6 years and I’m so thankful to have it here in Tallahassee.
