COT – Q shared that he was inspired to honor the soldiers in the workout due to some of the Pax (LD, Swanny) completing the MOG Mile Go Ruck event last weekend. The Pax were encouraged to learn more about the battle through documentaries, books and the movie Black Hawk Down. The Q highlighted the selfless acts of two Special Forces soldiers, Gary Gordon and Randy Shughart. They repeatedly volunteered to assist the down Blackhawk crews. Once granted permission to assist, Gordon and Shughart defended the downed crew of Super Six Four from being overrun by the increasing number of attackers until they were both fatally wounded. Their actions saved the lives of the crew and both were awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously.

Q also shared about the need for silence in our lives. Psalm 46:10 – Be still and know that I am God. In an increasingly noisy world full of distractions through the media and technology, silence is necessary for us to hear God’s voice in our hearts. The pax were encouraged to spend some time in silence this weekend.

Visa reminded the pax of the memorial ruck this afternoon in honor of TFD Lt. Sarah Cooksey who lost her life in a tragic accident recently.

Swanny shared his experience at the Go Ruck event last weekend and having a cadre who participated in the Battle of Mogadishu. He reminded the pax to go to Go Ruck events where the cadre was a participant in the battle being remembered as a can’t miss opportunity.

Focker talked about how his life improved after removing the noise of social media, TV news and other media from his life.

Mr. Kotter pointed our attention to the beautiful lightning show in the sky to the West and the wonder and awe of God the creator.

AOL provided the pax an update on the pull up bars. A decision will need to be made to continue working through the CDD, the City for inclusion in the new park or to look for a solution on private property.
