Lord’s Prayer

Warm-Up – While waiting on a potential FNG, the PAX warmed up with a brisk mosey, Shuffle Left, Shuffle Right, Butt Kicks, High Knees, Hip Circles (“Door Hinges”) and then picked up the FNG & Dirty Mike.

Stop #1 – Each PAX grabbed a section of fence for a Q special ‘DIMPLES’ circuit. Each letter was a different excercise with a fence hop in between each 10 reps. So 10 dips + fence hop, 10 dips + fence hop, then move to next letter and repeat cadence.

  • D – 10 Dips + hop fence, 10 Dips + hop fence
  • I – 10 Incline Merkins + fence hop (x2)
  • M – 10 Decline Merkins + fence hop (x2)
  • P – 10 Plank Jacks + fence hop (x2)
  • L – 10 ISO Lunges per Leg + fence hop (x2)
  • E – 10 Everythings (thanks to Crablegs, we repeated D, I, M, P, L with 2 reps each then fence hop for 2 rounds)
  • S – Suicide Sprints in parking lot (2 rounds)

Stop #2 – Catch our breath and mosey to fieldhose for Wall Sits + Sprints. All PAX in a wall sit while 2 PAX at a time run around building while rotating hands above head or flutter out front.

Stop #3 – Mosey to Turf Field for Burpee Bonanza! From goal line, 5 burpees then bear crawl to 6 yard box, and Joe Hendrix (aka crawl bear) back. 5 more burpees then crab crawl to 18 yard box and box. 5 more burpees with bear crawl + Joe Hendrix. 5 burpees with 2 push and crab crawl to 18 yard box.

Stop #4 – Mosey to ‘the Hill’ and grab a rock.

10 staggered merkin plank walkovers (left hand low + right hand on rock, merkin, plank walk right, left hand on rock + right hand low, merkin = 1 rep). Run up hill with rock. 19 flutters with rock above head (1 per PAX). Mosey back down.

10 squats with rock + bear crawl up hill. Mosey back down.

10 overhead press with rock + put them away due to time shortage.

Double barrel S&B down the dirt road with stop along the way for a lunge walk (aka ‘Walk like an Egyptian’) until all PAX were back together. We then encountered the jungle hill which was freshly mowed and completed 2 rounds of sprints up the hill.

Stop #5 – Mosey to Pavillion for AB work and finisher sprints. 10 Big Boys, 20 Crunches, 30 American Hammers. 3 rounds of sprints in the parking lot to finish.

COT:

Great to have FNG Kyle McDonald out for his 1st post after a emotional headlock from Dirty Mike. Good words shared by many on leadership, community, and thankfulness. Continued prayers for the family who’s 7 year old son was diagnosed with a rare stomach cancer (friends of Count & Jaws). It’s times like these we may question why God allows things like this to happen, but we must trust he has a plan and his will will be done.

During COT I shared a daily devotional around ‘scaling leadership’ which I included below. Would recommend everyone consider this as you go into your weekend.

Scaling Leadership Biblically

As followers of Jesus, scaling our leadership using wisdom from the Bible is critical and essential in this day and age. We must enlarge, magnify, maximize, and grow our leadership capacity to navigate the environments we face. Rapidly evolving technology, ever-changing employee and team dynamics, and shifting global economics are just some of the issues we’ll encounter and applying biblical truths will deepen our insight.

But scaling our leadership isn’t just for the workplace. We must scale our leadership at home with our families and in our other relationships as well. It might be a bit extreme, but for the most part, I believe coach Holtz was on to something:

“In this world, you’re either growing, or you’re dying, so get in motion and grow.” — Lou Holtz

We’re either growing or dying. We’re going to scale our leadership or reduce it. Right now might be a good time to get this out in the open—scaling our leadership won’t come easy. Making this investment and bringing intentionality to this type of growth will put us in challenging situations and will absolutely push us out of our comfort zones. But if we don’t, we won’t be reaching all the potential of what God has in store for us.

“If we’re growing, we’re always going to be out of our comfort zone.” — John Maxwell
