Gilchrist – 9/28/21
PAX: Crayola, Bad Chef, Recount, Senator
Q: Crab Legs
We had a 4:5 chance of staying on campus but the odds were not with us. Ended up doing the big, big loop as part of a different kind of EMOM.
The theme of the day was “Hurry.” at 5:25 sharp, we headed east out of Gilchrist toward T-ville Rd. Our version of the EMOM today was “Every Mile on the Mile.” with a total of 5 miles in the newly redesigned big loop, this made for 5 exercise stops. Recount made an additional stop to do a single rep of squats in the gas station bathroom. And Recount being Recount, he easily caught back up with us once he dropped the kids off at the pool.
1st stop at mile 1 was Imperial Walkers, 2nd mile was Don Quixote’s, 3rd was arm circles, 4th was imperial walkers, and 5th was 50 LBC’s. We did the Hermitage loop with an additional lap of the big fence at the Gilchrist parking lot and a lap through the innards of the school back to the track and then back to the flag. Total mileage was 5.01 according to my watch which is usually .1-.2/mile behind reality.
COT: We had 2 options for this workout but both involved being in a hurry. Read an excerpt from The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry by John Mark Comer. Basically, living a hurried life is the enemy of living a Godly life. We will never be the man, the husband, the father, or the friend we want to be if our life is lived in anxiety, hurry, and the pursuit of earthly things.
Interestingly, Bad Chef was recovering from a case of Salmonella that he swears was not a result of his cooking. All other pax were well.
Pledge and Prayer.
SYITG.
