AO: Fred George – The BOG
Q: Fruit of the Loom
PAX: Chef Boyardee, Columbus, Pineapple, Retro, Trash Panda
Warm up – Lap around the baseball field and back to playground
The Thang:
AMRAP workout with Cindy’s this morning.
All exercises with Cindy unless noted.
40 seconds of work, 20 seconds to recover and switch exercises. 1 minute break between rounds, during which we ran from sideline to sideline on the football field
4 rounds of the following:
Goblet sumo squats
Front and Back Lunges (no weight)
Pickle pointers (shoulders on bleachers)
Step ups (no weight)
Seated shoulder press
Kettlebell swings
Front raises
Upright rows
The Q planned for 5 rounds but due to explanation of the workout format and PAX changing weights and getting water, we only had time for 4 plus a little ab work at the flag. This is a repeat of the workout the Q did when he showed up alone a few months ago. Q wanted to finally share it with the group.
Ab work at flag:
10 Count box-cutters called by Q
10 count flutters called by Pineapple
10 count Big Boys called by Columbus
And 6:15.
COT: Q mentioned one his big personal fears that he’s trying to get past, and that is fear of not being able to complete a workout or being the last one to finish. This is especially difficult during these days of Iron Pax Challenge. Q mentioned that there are many verses in the Bible about conquering fear but a secular reference to conquering fear has really been working on his mind lately. Some geeks will recognize this one:
“I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
Prayers were asked for families of those that recently passed and for those that are currently sick.
PLEDGE
PRAYER: Columbus
