Fred George Backblast – 9/7/2021

Q: Crab Legs
Warm-up: Circle up and stretch. Took some time to get the legs loose for some limited travel. One quick 100m mosey to get the blood moving.
Work: We set out down Fred George Rd. to explore the AO a bit more. Stopped every .25 miles for some ab work. Ab sets ranged from 10-15 F3 count of an exercise to 5 reps per pax (40 reps) for some work. Tried to work every part of the abs by mixing in leg lifts, box cutters, etc. Lots of grunting, groaning, and flatulence was experienced.
The loop we ran took us through one subdivision, back down Fred George, and partially into another sub-division. Some shake-n-bakes and wind sprints were mixed into keep the spice in our relationship.
On our way back to the flag we saw what has to be the largest wolf spider ever recorded (think Shelob from LOTR movies) that was just hanging out on the handrail. Legit leg span was within 1″ of the long side of a 2×6. Another spider decided to build a web designed to catch unsuspecting runners. Both arachnids were successfully avoided.
Back at the flag we used the 100 m horseshoe to do some wind sprints. 4 laps of wind sprints made sure that we got our money’s worth this morning.

Proverbs 18:21 – The tongue holds the power of life and death. Something that was brought up at the convergence yesterday made me think that this is probably a good topic for all of us as we head into the end of 2021. While I think that we certainly need to eliminate grumbling and complaining from our mouths, perhaps the more important aspect of this verse is the notion that our words have the power of life for those that hear them. Socrates eloquently added the concept of gratitude and thankfulness to the conversation. Our words can bring a powerful life to those around us. As leaders of our families, communities, and other areas of life, are we speaking kindly and compassionately to those around us? When is the last time our wife or children heard a compliment from us. You get the drift. While we all have different social and financial resources, all of us have the ability to speak powerfully and lovingly to the people around us. Doing so will make us stand out from the crowd and let our light shine before men.
Answered prayers for Trash Panda’s wife. Columbus requested prayers for the family of a friend who recently died from COVID.
