“Blackjack Beta Test”

The Thang:
Blackjack
The group starts with 50 bucks. At the end of the game, if you end with less than 50 bucks, you make up for it in burpees with each dollar. So if you end the game with 30 dollars, the buy out would be 20 burpees at the end.
If player wins, we do the reps on the player’s hand.
If dealer wins, we do the reps on the dealer’s hand with additional running. The distance was modulated based upon the blue falcon-ing of the group (ahem, Wham-O)
If there is a push, we do all the reps on both hands with no running.
For the reps,
Spades = squats
Clubs = sit-ups or flutter kicks
Hearts = pushups
Diamonds = bench jumps
A = 15, K = 13, Q = 12, J = 11 – like in all my other card games
Obviously standard values in blackjack apply where A is 1/11 and face cards are 10.
If, at any point, a 13 is dealt, we did 13 burpees for the 13 fallen in Kabul. This occurred one time throughout the morning.
One deck. You are allowed to double down and split. No insurance on the A for the dealer given – you just lose if dealer has a 10 under.
Minimum bet is 2 dollars. No maximum.
The group ended with 52 bucks. No real money was awarded. No additional burpees done.
We finished with a shake-and-bake with the ammo can containing all the chips and cards.
COT:
For Labor Day, this game will be shortened (particularly the penalty for losing).
I discussed my feelings on Kabul. F3 was created because of the need for male leadership in our communities. It starts from the ground up.
Continued TCLAPS to Crayola for consistently showing up every morning for 29 consecutive days already. Most F3 PAX do not get that in their lifetimes.
