Warm-up: Stretch out and mosey around to the Wolf statue

Work: The workout idea was geared to a much smaller group of HIMs, so there was a little delay while everything got sorted out, but the basic idea was each PAX gets dealt a hand of UNO cards. Each color card represents an exercise, and each PAX has to complete reps of that exercise equal to the number on the card.  +2 and +4 cards added that number of reps to the previous card, and “switch hand” cards could be used, but with 23 PAX it was too busy to really play that type of game.

After each hand was played, the PAX was instructed to run a lap around the courtyard until all PAX had completed their work from the cards.  Being the HIMs that they are, many of the PAX opted to take the stair route around the courtyard for extra work.  After the second hand, at the wise urging of the PAX, the Q decided to issue cards to groups of 2 men, instead of dealing cards to each individual PAX, in the interest of time.

3 hands were played, at which point the Q led a mosey to a second location. Second location was the flag pole near the entrance to the football field.  Same work was done here but instead of running laps until all work was done, bear crawls in a circle were the order of the day.  3 hands were played and then another mosey.

Many of the PAX assumed we were heading to the football field for the last round, and the Q, being unfamiliar with this AO was going to let them until his wise father pointed him in the direction he actually wanted to go.  He eventually led them to a roundabout near the basketball courts, for 3 more rounds of uno based work. Upon completing work at this location, PAX was required to run the nearby stairs until all card work was done.

Mosey to flag.

COT: Q had not much in the way of wise words to share, but was thankful for everyone who showed up. Much praise was heaped upon the young Q, with many PAX proud of his effort and his willingness to lead.  Prayers requested for Dimples’ wife and her family. Prayers for all affected by COVID. Prayers for those starting back to school. A lot of great work done, and much mention of the general level of sweatiness generated by the workout.
