The Recess bells rang and summer stepped into her place as 5 Gentlemen of the Gloom met in sultry and oppressive conditions. The humid environment played right into our hands as we harnessed her moist with our fortitude to make one another stronger; to give eachother a sharper edge.
Lord’s Prayer followed by name-o-rama with 30 SSH’s, 30 High Knees, 30 Buttkicks.
Warmup: PAX circle up and hold an Al Gore w/ rotating squat jump while we take turns getting in 15 damn good pullups.
Shake n bake 3/4mi on the multi use path. Core work – on your six.
(1) 50 heel tappers
(2) 10″ 6inches hold, 30 bicycles, 30 reverse bicycles, 10″ 6inches hold
(3) 30 Big Boy situps
Mosey 1/4mi to the benches. Partner up. Facing one another 1 man dirkens partner merkins and we clap hands on the come up. We rotated this 3 x 10 reps. Odd man out did lunges AMRAP. 25 dips together.
Mosey 1/2mi to the field. 50x tie your shoes. Partner up. Partners have to complete 60 burpees while one partner sprints hill and crab walk backwards or reverse lunges back down.
Mosey 1/8mi to picnic tables. Partner up. one man does dip while his feet are on shoulders of partner who does a merkin. Rotated 2 x 10 reps.
Cooldown: Shake n bake 1/4 mi back to the bar. 15 damn good pullups each while the PAX hits the rails for more dips 20/25/15/10. Mosey home to the flag.
COT: Q had some good words hit him from a source he could not remember- Just as a fish’s environment is water and it cannot live without it, just as a plant lives in the sun and cannot live without it, etc, Then so a man’s environment is God and he cannot live without Him. If we choose the Lord in every action we take, we will truly live. We can’t lose. Energizer followed up that we have God sized holes in our soul, we can try and fill the hole with everything we can but ultimately only God can fill that giant void. To the Q’s chagrin, the FNG’s said the workout was tough but not as tough as the Murph they did on Monday. The Q can fix that. Red Elephant told the FNGs as much as they may have hated coming out this morning they have begun something that will help them and their families for the rest of their lives. He’s right.
