Twelve men assembled for the back-to-school Leon beat down. To kick this off, the Q provided a math quiz which determined the PAX fate that windless, muggy morning.

Three cards labeled #1, #2, #3 given face down. Two cards were goats (aka: The Murph). One other card sucked worse.
Our contestant: Shooter McGavin chose card #3. Card #1 was shown to be The Murph. This did not deter our contestant from changing his answer to card #2 (geek answer: always switch if you don’t want the goat).
PAX proceeded to carry out The Murph until Q called time.
1 mile reverse course up Georgia St. and down Hillcrest back to prison yard to rinse.
Not done yet…3 minutes left for 150 flutters and 6 inch hold for a minute.

The Q read an excerpt of a bio of Major Stephen Reich from a recent Operation Red Wings GRT in Tallahassee:
Major Stephen Reich was born on May 22, 1971, in Cleveland, Ohio. He entered the U.S. Military Academy at West Point on June 28, 1989, and was commissioned a 2d Lt in the U.S. Army on May 29, 1993. He was killed in action during Operation Red Wings when the MH-47 helicopter he was piloting was shot down by an enemy rocket-propelled grenade on June 28, 2005.
A plaque rests on the back of a stone bench near the Shepaug River in Hidden Valley, part of Steep Rock nature preserve. The bench and a nearby bridge were dedicated in Stephen’s honor. The top of the plaque reads: “If you would seek his monument, look about you.” The quote is derived from the monument of Christopher Wren in St. Paul’s Cathedral in London.
Based on this quote, we were reminded of our legacy in terms of those important relationships we build over our lifetime. It also reminds us to carve out time for our kids, spouses, and friends as the busy new school year gets going.
The PAX is doing well. Prayers were sent out for those gearing up for school.
