QIC: Fruit of the Loom
PAX: Pebbles, Slowhand, Mr. Tumnus (formerly FNG Russell Matherly), Dimples, Tasty Cakes, Houdini, Recount, War Eagle, Chef Boyardee
Warmup:
15 SSH, 15 Merkins
The Thang:
Round 1
Cindy goblet squat 10 count
Elevated Cindy dead lift (stand on one Cindy, stand the other up vertically and deadlift it) 10 count
Farmer carry lap around the parking lot.
Cindy shoulder press 10 count
Cindy front raises w/rotation (raise Cindy horizontal in front of you, when you get it up to face level, turn it left and then right like a steering wheel) 10 count
(Note, PAX seemed to really love these)
Hug your cindy and carry it around the parking lot
Cindy upright row 10 count
Cindy bent over one arm row leaning on spare Cindy. Do each arm individually. 10 count each side
Cindy on your back, lap around the parking lot
Cindy Chest Press (on your six) 10 count
Cindy Incline Merkins (hands on Cindy) 10 count
Short farmer carry lap around the parking lot. (NOTE, it was around this time the QIC remembered he only wanted to do cindy carry laps after every 4 exercises, not every 2)
Cindy Skull crushers 10 Count
Cindy Frog Merkins (feet on one Cindy, hands on the other) 10 Count
(Note, I think, based on all the weird groaning, PAX liked these even more than when we steered the cindys on the front raises)
Cindy curls 10 count
Cindy half holds (hold the Cindy at 90 degrees in front. No lift, just hold). For a minute.
Quick lap carrying the cindy before working the core.
Leg Lift Overs (on your six, Cindy at your feet, lift legs from left side of Cindy to right side, that’s one rep). 10 count
Cindy Big Boys (feet in Cindy holes, come up, touch Cindy) 10 count
Round 2
Rinse and repeat all of the above with less breaks for cindy laps.
This time around we did NOT drive the cindy after raising it to the front, to the joy of the PAX (and the QIC), but we did do some more Frog Merkins (Frerkins? Mogs?) which absolutely no one grumbled about.
Finisher
After finishing round 2 with a little time to spare, the PAX formed a close circle with every third man grabbing a cindy. These were in turn passed clockwise around the circle as quickly as safely possible. After a few rounds, the QIC determined we needed more cindys injected into the mix so 2 additional cindys were added. After a long minute or two, we changed it up and passed the cindy widdershins around the circle.
The QIC got bored passing the cindy with the PAX being vertical and opted to have the PAX get on their sixes and pass the cindy that way, being careful to not drop a cindy on anyone’s face. This was made more interesting by having PAX press the cindy once receiving it before passing it on, and then more interest was added by lifting feet off the ground for the last couple of rotations.
With one minute left, Chef Boyardee counted us out with 10-11? Big Boy Situps, before he was abruptly shut down as the clock ticked 6:15.
COT:
QIC brought up the need to take joy in the things we do and to not fall into the trap of being a grim and dour man, as it seems the world often expects us to be. Take joy in your faith, take joy in a job well done, take joy in your family, and the little things as well as the big things.
All seemed to be well with the PAX, with a few members pointing out the upcoming Easter holiday and how good it will be to have services in person, as well as making sure that we remember what it’s about. The point was also brought up to not be dismissive of those that may only attend a church worship this one day a year, but rather use it as an opportunity to see if you can get them in more often. The QIC’s father (a pastor) has often said about church visitors, that we need to “Treat them so many different ways, that they’re bound to like one of them.” If we let the joy of our faith shine through, it can encourage others and make them wonder what they are missing.
