FIA and F3 Convergence at Gilchrist

Gilchrist – December 8, 2020

Multi-Q with both a HIIT and Running component

Pax: Pebbles, Wallflower, Socrates, Houdini, Manguy, Wham-O, Count, Willie, Grillz, Dimples, Big Easy, Toto, Slaw Dog, Psycho, Carbon Copy, Tastycakes, Robinhood

Q: Cathy/Crab Legs

19 Pax arrived at the frozen tundra of Gilchrist where they separated into 2 groups.

Cathy did the HIIT workout. Crab Legs and the rest of the Pax did a 2.9 mile variation of the big loop.

Big loop involved heading east on Timberlane toward Thomasville. We took some brakes (literally, 2 brake drums, 2 rotors.) The first 4 guys in the shake-n-bake line carried the weights. The last guy ran to the front of the line and all the weights shifted forward to the first 4 guys were always carrying weight. We stopped a number of times for Burpees, Merkins, Red Rockets, Flutters, etc. Stopped at the church to do some hill sprints and then back up the hill to Gilchrist. 2 horseshoe sprints as a topper.

Not sure what the HIIT workout crew did but they looked tired so I think it was pretty brutal.

COT: Everyone felt like quoting movies and it ranged from Shawshank Redemption to Clint Eastwood to Dazed and Confused. Bottom line: It doesn’t matter what happens to you in life, it matters how you deal with it. Also, as Andy said in Shawshank Redemption, “Get busy livin’, or get busy dyin’.”

Prayer, Pledge.
