November 2020 Update

One month left to go in 2020! Let’s finish off the year strong!

The following is a recap of the schedule of events coming up:

Jan 2 – Nominations open. All 2020 PAX data ready for review
Jan 9 – Nominations close
Jan 10 – Award vote and survey open
Jan 17 – Award vote and survey close
Jan 19 – First 2nd F of 2021

Secret Santa 2020
Secret Santa is already underway. 24 PAX have signed up. It will be interesting to see what people give! I apologize for anyone who missed out. I know I started earlier than originally intended. There was request to start it early to take advantage of any Black Friday or Cyber Monday sales. We already had a couple of road blocks with the Elfster program, but, in the end, we are underway.

December Trials and Pilots
I have some ideas that I wanted to test out to finish the year. Many of these will help get last minute posts for those itching to make it to 100 before 2020 is over. These will be discussed in the survey coming up to see if we want to make them more permanent.

Pre-run or ruck before Cascades on Saturday starting at 0600 hours
This is for those looking to get some extra miles before the 0700 hours post. It is nice way to casually spend some fellowship time doing so. I got this idea from F3 Jacksonville. Usually 3-4 people show up for this prior to starting the 0700 hour post.

CSAUP event (Completely Stupid And Utterly Pointless) event
I have plenty of endurance-based workouts that require at least 3 hours to complete. I have been doing them myself and I was wondering if other people would be dumb enough to do it with me. We are about to find out! The first trial will be Dec 12 (not finalized yet) starting at 0530 at Chiles where you can get 5 posts for finishing the entire workout. If you finish part 1 at least, you can get 1 post. DFQ!

Sunday mobility @ 0600
In order to encourage proper rest and recovery at least one day a week, I think it would be nice to do mobility on a Sunday morning. Nothing extremely strenuous before many go to church. It gives you time to reflect as well. I am not sure when I would pilot this at the moment. The location would change each time. Unless other people help me run this, I can probably only commit to about one of these per month, depending on my schedule

F3 Tallahassee Updates
Now onto updates with F3 Tallahassee. Here is the current overall counts. The Thanksgiving holiday tempered numbers a bit. However, we have made SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS since 2019 and I am looking forward to sharing those comparisons with you when we finish the year.

Here are the current post totals amongst the top 30. Again, there may other posts that I did not count for various reasons. Next year, I will likely stick to barebones posts, pilots, and special events (i.e. Veterans Day Ruck).

Unfortunately for me, Crab Legs has officially passed me in most number of posts in one calendar year (previous record was 202). Congratulations, brother! Houdini is well on his way to being the first FNG to have 100 posts in his first year. Continuing that pace, he could compete with Crab Legs for next year’s title. This month, Wallflower topped the charts in most posts for November with 20, nd he is about to do the unthinkable and somehow muster up 32 posts in the month of December to make it 100…

Currently we have 18 PAX already over 100 posts which is already an improvement from last year. Great job, everyone!

Today, I just made my 50th Q this year! Thank you to all those who have suffered through my madness! Here are the top 10 for number of Qs.

One month left to go. I know 2020 has been a huge dumpster fire. However, there is no reason to not try to make it the best month yet. It is all about your mindset. There is no need to wait until Jan 1 to set goals. The best time to set goals and execute them is NOW! Get after it!
