Isometric Teamwork Challenge

Monday, January 27, 2020 – Leon “Isometric Teamwork Challenge” QIC: Wiseguy

PAX: Crab Legs, Napoli, Mickey Mouse, Guns n’ Roses, Cappuccino, Speedo, Shooter McGavin, Rico Suave, Private Ryan, Ron Swanson

Lord’s Prayer @ 0525 The Thang: Objective:
  • One person run a lap around the track as fast as possible while everyone else waits doing an isometric hold exercise.
  • Get through everyone once in a 30-minute time hack
  • Reduce the number of penalty “dice rolls” which translate to PT exercises at the end by memorizing your 10 numbers while under duress.
Rules:
  • Each person goes only once.
  • You must do each of the holds on the list at least one time.  Once you have gone through all them once then you may pick and choose any other ones you want at will (except for the freebie prayer pose).
  • You have one freebie – prayer pose.  You may not earn a reward or get a penalty for this particular round.
  • If you do not get through everyone in the time hack, you will acquire 5 dice rolls.
  • You will be assigned a set of 10 numbers to memorize.  At anytime, during the holds, I will call out someone’s letter and you have to recite your 10 numbers in the order that they were written.  If you get it wrong, it will be an added dice roll at the end of the game.
  • You have 2 minutes to memorize your number before we start.  You will not see your number ever again afterwards.
  • The runner may not start until everyone is in position.  The start is the cones.  The finish is the flag.  You must run the course of the lap which may be shortened or lengthened based on how well you hold the isometric exercises
  • Throughout the game, I will add opportunities to get rewards or worsen penalties.
  • BLUE FALCON PROTECTION PLAN.  Any action that I do will not give you a penalty or a reward.  I may have to break out of a position to watch people or verify that your numbers are correct.  I will not be a runner.
Results:
  • I forgot my flag this morning.  I offered to subtract a dice roll if someone has a flag.  Ron Swanson had his flag in his truck which gave the team a start of -1 dice rolls.
  • The start point continued to move backward given that there were plenty of breaks in form for some of the exercises.  The ones that were a true struggle were the “Iron Throne” and the stacked plank.  The people who ran towards the end of the game had to run up to 450 m.  This prolonged the time needed to hold the position and the time the runner took to finish.
  • I made a deal to drop the freebie pose in order to erase all of the dice rolls acquired.  That unfortunately failed.
  • Everyone was able to finish the run within the 30 minute time hack.
  • The team finished with 7 dice rolls total.  7 – 1 = 6 net total dice rolls.
  • There were some very fortunate dice rolls.
    • 17 x shoulder presses
    • 13 x decline merkins on Cindy
    • 1 x 8-count bodybuilders (no Cindy)
    • 4 x burpees (no Cindy)
    • 11 x Cindy swings
    • 14 x sit-ups (no Cindy)
Debrief:
  • I went to Apopka, FL (near Orlando) to participate in an endurance event with Team Regiment.  This was a game that was played in the third quarter of the thirteen hour foray after swimming a half-mile, doing 800 burpees, running 6 miles, and rucking about 3 miles.  You can imagine that there was a lot more breaks in form.
  • The fastest runners should be saved to the end.  I thought too many of the faster runners were used too early when you were fresher.
  • I did not specify how some of the exercises can be done as a team or done easier.
    • You can assist the overhead hold by getting under someone else’s Cindy and helping it up.  You can also overhead hold two Cindy’s if necessary.
    • You did not need to stack the plank on the bottom person’s back.  You could have stacked on top of feet gently facing away from each other.
    • You can plant your feet under someone else’s feet during the 6 inch hold to help him stay up.
  • Someone else could have memorized more numbers to help other people if one person on the team possesses a good memory.  The purpose of this is to perform a simple task while under physical duress.
COT:
  • Rico Suave is setting up a non-profit to help with the aftermath of Hurricane Michael.  There will be another tree-cutting trip this Saturday, meeting at Kerry Forest Starbucks at 0720.
  • Speedo and Shooter McGavin continue to develop the CCYS event.  We all questioned the rules and regulations of the Parks and Recreation department.
  • Guns n’ Roses temporarily called next week’s Q.
Update on Qs: Thursday Gilchrist at 0525 is still open this week. http://www.tinyurl.com/f3tallahasseecalendar Prayer (Guns n’ Roses) F3 Tallahassee Google Calendar Links Public link: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/embed?src=qqsd9ujou5qi9cujc5gbta9lv8%40group.calendar.google.com&ctz=America%2FNew_York iCal link: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/qqsd9ujou5qi9cujc5gbta9lv8%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics F3 WordPress link: https://f3tallahassee.com/f3-calendar/
